Lt Gen Sir Andrew Gregory KBE CB

Controller, SSAFA

Lt Gen Sir Andrew Gregory KBE CB retired from the British Army in April 2016 after thirty five years’ service, most recently as Chief of Defence People at the Ministry of Defence. He was previously Director General Personnel and Military Secretary and served in a range of command and staff roles in Germany, Northern Ireland and the Balkans. He was Deputy Commander of 1st (United Kingdom) Armoured Division during the invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Deputy Controller Marketing, Communications & Fundraising

Corinne Pluchino has eighteen years’ experience of communications, marketing, business development and most recently charitable fundraising. Before joining SSAFA in August 2013, Corinne was Head of Corporate Development at Marie Curie Cancer Care and was responsible for securing new corporate fundraising partnerships, corporate events and corporate volunteering.

Prior to Marie Curie, she was a Director of Hill & Knowlton Strategies, the global communications consultancy, where she specialised in corporate communications, product marketing, public affairs and stakeholder engagement, and designed and delivered strategic campaigns for clients in the health and social care sector.

Michael Dickson

Deputy Controller Health and Social care

Michael is a qualified nurse, with most of his clinical experience in the field of Oncology / Haematology and has worked in the NHS and independent sectors, holding Director of Nursing positions in both. Michael has worked on two national improvement programmes with the Department of Health in England and Northern Ireland and he also worked with the largest acute homecare provider in the UK, across Europe.

Before joining SSAFA, Michael supported two challenged NHS providers in the community and acute sectors working with them to develop the quality of their services and achieve improvements against regulatory requirements.

Director of SSAFA Client Services

Liz looks after SSAFA’s specialist services. These services are delivered by our volunteers to particular groups of people experiencing specific problems as a result of service life.

Some of these issues might include veterans in the criminal justice system, military wives and girlfriends experiencing relationship breakdown, wounded injured and sick service personnel leaving the services and victims of crime in British Forces Cyprus and Germany.

Head of Specialist Services

Karen is responsible for SSAFA’s nationwide network of specialist volunteers providing support to those making the transition from military into civilian life.

Through her work Karen has gained an in-depth knowledge of the unique challenges facing members of the Armed Forces, especially those who have been wounded injured or sick, as they reintegrate to civilian life.
