SSAFA, the Armed Forces Charity, has signed Dan Snow as the charity’s newest celebrity Ambassador.

Explaining why the charity had approached Dan for the role, David Murray, Chief Executive, SSAFA, explained:

“As a well-respected military historian and broadcaster, Dan brings enormous gravitas and specialist knowledge to the organisation. On a personal level, I am impressed by how readily he has given up his time to support us and take part in our new TV advertising campaign.”

“Dan has real knowledge and understanding of the work that we do to support British Armed Forces, veterans and their families and we are delighted to announce him as a SSAFA Ambassador.”

Explaining why he accepted the role, Dan added:

“SSAFA gives vital support to our Armed Forces, veterans and their families.  They are the first point of contact for those in need, assisting with the very real issues facing the serving community each and every day.”

“The charity has a unique 130 year history, having been in existence throughout both World Wars and every conflict since, which I find fascinating from both a professional and personal perspective.”

Dan is currently fronting the charity’s first ever television advertising campaign, appealing for support for the UK’s servicemen and women, veterans and their families. You can view the advert here
