Prison In-reach

As a Prison In-reach volunteer you will support veterans in prison or their families.

About the role

Our Prison In-reach service forms an essential part of our support for veterans in custody. SSAFA's specialist Prison In-reach volunteers are trained in all aspects of working within the prison context with a good understanding of the Criminal Justice System and the prison system. They are also equipped to help with issues such as housing and resettlement as veterans in custody get closer to their release.

Who we're looking for

We are looking for experienced SSAFA caseworkers to support veterans in prison or their families. Before you can take on this training you need to have:

  • Experience of more than one year of casework
  • Completed a prison visit with your local SSAFA team

How to apply
